The Mattress Factory Art Museum

From its website:

The Mattress Factory is a museum of contemporary art that presents art you can get into — room-sized environments, created by in-residence artists. Located in the historic Mexican War Streets of Pittsburgh’s North Side since 1977, the Mattress Factory is one of few museums of its kind anywhere.

The Mattress Factory is one of the strangest places I have been to–nowhere have I felt more like Alice in Wonderland than in this art museum. I’ve heard that the experience is quite different if there are many people around, but I went near closing time on a Sunday on a day of a Steelers Game. There is nothing quite like roaming these strange rooms all alone. It seeks to distort perception. It is amazing and I love Pittsburgh for having it here. Go.

I will have to check this place out even though I probably won’t understand it.
